Born in Beirut, Dalia Khamissy received a diploma in photography in 1999. Since the end of the 2006 July war she has been mostly documenting the aftermath of Lebanon’s wars and social issues, especially those concerning women’s rights.
Dalia’s work has been published in the BBC, Aperture Magazine, The Times (UK), TIME, Amnesty International, Monocle, FT, Ibraaz, Le Monde, the Wall Street Journal, Le Nouvel Observateur, Le Temps and “Transit Beirut”, amongst others.
Dalia Khamissy is represented by the Empty Quarter Gallery in Dubai. Her photographs are on display in the permanent collection of the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris.
